Gospel Quartet

No kidding. Time Life has put together a fine 30-track, two-disc collection -- assembled from the original four on the Hee Haw label itself. Here are Grandpa Jones, Roy Clark, Buck Owens, and Kenny Price, moving through fine arrangements of gospel classics like "Dust on the Bible," "Shall We Gather at the River," "Just Over in Glory Land," "The Unclouded Day," "Amazing Grace," and "On the Jericho Road," just to name a few. These four cats could really sing together. And while it's true that the show was known for its cornpone humor, you'll find none of that here among these four musicians of stature and class.
